Sturgis Falls Overman Entertainment is proud to invest in the future of our community by offering a $1,500 scholarship to a deserving area High School Senior. This scholarship is designed to support students from Cedar Falls, or the surrounding area, in pursuing higher education at an accredited college, university, or trade school.
Am I eligible to apply?
To qualify for the Sturgis Falls Overman Entertainment Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a Senior in High School.
- Attend a Public or Private institution in Black Hawk County or immediately surrounding areas.
- Maintain a GPA of 3.00 or higher on a 4.00 scale.
How can I use my Scholarship?
Scholarship Award of $1,500 can be used to cover:
- Tuition
- Books and additional supplies
- Room and Board
- Other Educational Costs
Scholarship Funds will be issued jointly to the student and their chosen upper education institution. Funds must be utilized during the Fall and/or Spring term immediately following receipt of the award. This is a one-time award, and no continued support is implied or provided by Sturgis Falls Overman Entertainment.
Selection Criteria
Applicants will be evaluated based on the following materials:
Sturgis Falls has always been organized and operated by a vast network of volunteers. Applicants are required to submit a 500-word essay explaining the importance of volunteerism and how you plan to serve your community in the future!
Essays must be double-spaced in a 12-point font, demonstrate excellent sentence structure, spelling, and grammar.
An official copy of your current transcript is required. This may be submitted electronically or mailed hard copy to Sturgis Falls Overman Entertainment.
Please include a list of extra-curricular activities, awards and work experience.
A minimum of three references must be included. Contact information must be current and references may be personal or professional in nature.
