Guidelines for
Sturgis Falls Celebration
Alcohol Policy
- Wristbands Required: You must be 21 years or older and possess a valid photo ID to obtain a wristband for beer purchases.
- ID Spot Checks: Security personnel with mobile electronic age verifiers will conduct random ID checks throughout the weekend.
- Zero Tolerance: We are committed to curbing underage drinking with a ZERO Tolerance policy.
Park Regulations
- No Outside Alcohol or Coolers: Liquor, beer, or wine may not be brought into Cedar Falls parks during the Celebration.
- Animal Restriction: Per Cedar Falls Ordinance #2788, no animals are allowed in designated Sturgis Falls or Cedar Basin Jazz Festival areas.
- No Smoking: Smoking is prohibited in parks, per the Iowa Smokefree Air Act (2008).
- No Wheels Allowed: Bicycles, skateboards, rollerblades, scooters, and similar items are prohibited. Bike racks are available (see map for locations).
Parade Safety
- Do not sit on the curb with feet in the street, especially at intersections like 3rd and Main.
Overman Park Courtesy
- Keep interior sidewalks clear for emergency personnel and avoid obstructing the view of seated spectators.
Solicitation Ban
- Soliciting of any kind is strictly prohibited within the parks.
Traffic Safety
- Follow reduced speed limits and use pedestrian crosswalks on 1st Street between Main and Iowa Streets.
First Aid
- MercyOne Cedar Falls will provide First Aid/Rest Tents in Overman Park and Sturgis Park on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Weather Cancellation Policy
- In case of severe weather, activities may be postponed or canceled for public safety, with lightning being the primary concern.
Mosquito
- Pest control professionals will apply authorized chemicals in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Public notices will be posted in treated parks.
Admin Rights
- The Sturgis Falls Entertainment Group Board reserves the right to deny entry or eject anyone deemed a threat to the event’s safety or enjoyment.
