Gary Kelley, an internationally acclaimed illustrator from Cedar Falls, passed away on April 12 at age 81. A University of Northern Iowa graduate, he earned numerous awards, including 28 medals from the Society of Illustrators, and worked with major publications and organizations such as The New Yorker, Rolling Stone, and professional sports leagues.

Known as both a talented artist and generous mentor, Kelley inspired many throughout his career.
